Featuring the String Quartet and Julie Cavalieri.
NARRATION : Inspiration also came from trips to faraway lands. In March of 1957 , Martin Luther King visited Ghana to celebrate its newly won independence and to witness first-hand the birth of a nation, the first country in Africa to throw off the oppression of colonialism. After visiting Paris in February 1959, King went to India at the invitation of the Indian government to study more about non-violence. In fact, MLK was standing on the shoulders of a bespectacled, nearly naked little man who had shown the world that non-violent resistance could bring the mighty British Empire and its legions of soldiers and civil servants to its knees.
