This is an event meant to prepare the school children for the big show two weeks later where they practice all together for the first time running down the three songs with John Meldrum and a percussionist, and then listening to Americans talking about their experiences and feelings of the Civil Rights movement in general and Dr. King in particular. The clapping and singing together brings energy to these young people and it allows for the talk of understanding one another and building bridges together to flow more easily. The goal of the dress rehearsal is to put the future into a positive perspective for these young hearts and minds.
